Zapopan, Jalisco-. Visitors looking for things to do in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area this June will have the opportunity to explore Tequila Lab while enjoying tequila tastings offered by participating tequila producers on select weekends throughout the month.
The initiative, organized by the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), forms part of the activities available at Tequila Lab, a venue dedicated to sharing the history, culture and production process behind tequila, one of Mexico’s most recognized products worldwide.
The tastings will take place from June 19 to 21 and June 26 to 28, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. During these dates, adult visitors will be able to sample a variety of tequila expressions and learn about the characteristics that distinguish products made under the Tequila Appellation of Origin.
In addition to the tasting experience, guests can tour Tequila Lab’s exhibitions and interactive spaces, which explore the origins, development and global reach of tequila. Through audiovisual content, educational displays and immersive installations, visitors can gain insight into the cultural and economic significance of Mexico’s national spirit.
One of the venue’s main attractions is its Guinness World Records-certified collection of 3,199 different tequila bottles. The exhibition highlights the diversity of brands, styles and presentations that have shaped the tequila industry over time.
The tour also includes the Agave Forest, an area designed to showcase the connection between agave cultivation, tequila production and the cultural traditions associated with the industry. Visitors can also learn more about the Agave Landscape and Ancient Industrial Facilities of Tequila, which were inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2006.
Throughout the venue, guests will find artistic installations and educational exhibits that provide additional context on tequila’s role in Mexican history and identity, as well as its growing presence in international markets.
According to the Tequila Regulatory Council, Tequila Lab was created as a space where local residents, domestic travelers and international visitors can learn about the heritage, production and cultural significance of tequila through an accessible and educational experience.
Admission to Tequila Lab is free of charge and the venue is open to the public from Tuesday through Sunday.
